Becoming a Better Diver
Congratulations on becoming a certified Open Water Diver! So, what’s next? Dive, dive, dive... experience is the best teacher, so take and make the time to get underwater to keep your skills fresh and tweak your buoyancy control. At Scuba Marco we firmly believe that all divers should seek to earn their Rescue Diver certification. Not only will it add to and refine your comfort and control, you will be equipped with the knowledge and ability to assist in a dive accident or an emergency. The best news; you’re only 2 training levels away from true diver independence and the Rescue Diver certification!
PADI Advanced/Adventure Diver
The next stride beyond the Open Water Certification. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver program is 5 Adventure dives, which can be completed in just 2 days of diving. We start in Tarpon Bay to allow you to practice important dive skills like dive planning, navigation/compass work, and buoyancy control. Our instructors will help you to fine tune your neutral buoyancy skills; while also helping increase your ability to Navigate underwater. Using the PADI eLearning program allows for minimal classroom time… the focus is on diving and applying new skills and concepts underwater! Flexibility is key and Scuba Marco will cater our programs to meet your needs and time constraints! Remember, each Adventure Dive qualifies as the first dive of each PADI Specialty. (Specialty certifications go more in depth on each area and generally require 2 to 4 dives per specialty.)
The Advanced course helps you build confidence in navigation, fine-tune buoyancy skills and introduces you to different diving activities such as wreck diving, night diving or underwater imaging. After completing your eLearning, you'll make five Adventure Dives: a deep dive (beyond 18m/60F), a navigation dive, and three additional Adventure Dives of your choice to earn your certification. Dives and Instruction are done over two days.
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

PADI Rescue Diver

The Rescue Diver Course teaches you to be a better buddy! During the course, you learn how to spot potential problems and quickly deal with them before they become big issues. You will expand your knowledge, skills, and techniques to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well-being of other divers. You will not only be ready to rescue someone in an emergency, but you’ll also have the skills and awareness to prevent problems. Many certified Rescue Divers claim this course is the most fun and informative class they have taken! The Advanced Open Water certification is required to start the Rescue Diver course. Also, current CPR & First Aid certification is required.
Enriched Air Nitrox
The Enriched Air "Nitrox" certification is Scuba's most popular specialty course. Nitrox is diving with air containing more oxygen than the normal 21%. This means the diver absorbs less nitrogen throughout the dive. You get longer bottom times and improved safety margins! Most divers claim they have less fatigue and more energy after diving Nitrox over air. The course is fast and easy, no open water dives are required. Minimum age is 12.
A convenient way to study and learn the basics is via an interactive PADI E-Learning course. After completing the online program we will meet at the dive shop for a quick review. Next you will learn how to analyze the oxygen content in a tank and set your computer for the appropriate percentage of Oxygen appropriately.
The Nitrox certification does not require any underwater skills test.
Online Course: $212 / $30 Classroom fee for Private Quick Review and Oxygen Analysis.
***Make sure you select 'Scuba Marco' as your dive center.

Master Scuba Diver

Join the best of the best in recreational scuba diving and live the dive life as a PADI Master Scuba Diver. The Master Scuba Diver rating places you in an elite group of respected divers who have earned this rating through both significant experience and scuba training. Fewer than two percent of divers ever achieve this rating. When you flash your Master Scuba Diver card, people know that you’ve spent time underwater in a variety of environments and had your share of dive adventures.
Every diver who is at least 12 years old should aim for Master Scuba Diver.
The path starts with earning a PADI Open Water Diver certification, followed by PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certifications). You also need to earn five PADI Specialty Diver certifications and have logged a minimum of 50 dives.
